And the Winner Is...

A few weeks ago, Dan and I both had the opportunity to go to Jack's school to see him receive his ribbon for participating in the Young Author's book writing contest. We were oh so surprised though that his book titled, "The Silliest Sea Turtle" won third place in all of the 6 2nd grade classrooms!
The gym was too dark and I was too far away to get any good pictures of Jack receiving his reward, but here he is getting up to get his award!
After the ceremony was over, we had time for a quick photo! Here is proud Daddy with Jack and his winnings!
And, here I am with my second grade author!
Jack, we are SO proud of you and all your hard work!!! We love you!!!

Bye, Bye Binky...

I now feel l should be sitting in some 12 step program meeting. I am a speech pathologist, married to a pediatrician and our two year old son - well, SO close to three year old son has a pacifier!!! UGH! It got to the point when we were hiding it from daycare, letting Luke suck on his binky in the car on the way to daycare, popping it out before he went in, and then, once we picked him up, we gave it back to him and he kept it happily until the car ride the next day back to daycare! Well, the secret got out! When we were trying to figure out a "theme" for Luke's 3rd birthday party, we opted to have a "Bye Bye Binky Bash" in which we tied his beloved binky onto about 10 helium balloons!

Here is Buka, the birthday boy, with Papa, Nick and Jack and all the balloons! Ah, he is smiling...
And here he is, just not so happy, as we have the binky tied to the balloons now...and, they are up in the air...
Luckily Ms. Kristin and Maddie were there to give him some love...
And, check out this cake...yummy!
Happy 3rd Birthday to my Buka Bear!!!
After a pasta dinner (even Henry enjoyed some...with the help of Nana and Aunt Joy!)
...and Peggy Brown cake and ice cream, we decided we needed a workout. Thanks to Just Dance on the Wii...Aunt Jackie kicked my butt!!! Check out my look of amazement!!!
There were only a few participants though and lots of spectators!!!
Even some hecklers...Ang! :)
All in all though, it was a GREAT night AND Luke successfully gave up his binky! Henry still loves his though...hmmm, maybe there will be yet another 'bye bye binky' party in our future!!!
