Batter Up!

I've managed to blog about Jack's baseball team, but had yet to give Nick his props for his t-ball team - Team Moto Mart! Nick did great with his first year of t-ball. His two favorite 6 - year old twins - Cami and Syd were on his team and their dad, Bob, was the coach! However, the Sunday before we left for Mexico, Nick totally had a meltdown. We kept telling him that when he was done playing his game, we would be heading out - leaving for 8 days. I guess Nick figured that if he didn't play, we wouldn't go or he was just really sad/nervous about it. Poor kid. He didn't play at all that game! The next game, he didn't play at all! Needless to say we were all very frustrated!!! I'm not quite sure what changed during this his last game, but he PLAYED!!!
Here he is stepping up to the plate!
...getting a hit...
...and rounding home!
Here he is playing first base...and looking like a pro!
A final team picture! Nick is third from the left!
And here is our happy ball player! He must have really played hard...check out that dirt mustache! Good job, Nick! We are SO proud of you!

Our Little Olympian!

A LONG time ago, in early summer, we headed to the Trenton pool to watch Maddie do what she does best...SWIM! The boys were SO excited to go and cheer on their "big sister!" They even worked to make signs!!!
The day was HOT, but we managed to find some shade and the boys managed to keep themselves busy in our shade tree!
While Luke found some rest time with Ms. Kristin!
And here is our little fish now...check her out, and notice that there is NO ONE anywhere near her!!! She is amazing! Go Maddie, GO!
After all her races and a very long and hot day, Maddie still managed to find some energy to do what she does best (maybe even better than swimming!) make my three boys smile! Oh, and make them dizzy too! Here she is spinning Nick around like crazy!
What a great way to spend a Saturday!

An Egyptian Vacation!

One of our neighbors the Pastor of the Methodist church in town. He and his wife have 4 children that the boys like to play with in our cul-de-sac. On one such "playdate" we were invited to attend their Vacation Bible School. Since you had to be at least 4, Luke couldn't attend, but he is SO excited for next summer when he can go! I'm excited too as I will have 3 hours each morning for an entire week of alone time - you know, time I can go to the grocery store, clean, do all those tasks and errands that are easier done without three "active" boys!

Anyhow, the theme was all about Egypt and it culminated with a program Friday night at the park. Over 200 children went to the community VBS - involving 3 churches and the majority of kids showed up to belt out their songs!

Given Nick's track record I was a bit nervous that he wouldn't get up there and sing, but look at this - he was singing and even doing the motions!!! He is the one "raising the roof" to the left of the speaker!
Jack was right in the middle, but given his shorter stature, he was a bit more difficult to see...especially in all the pics that we snapped, but here he is...he ir right behind the girl bent over - he has a green bandanna thing on!
Daddy and Luke enjoying the show!
Here are the two performers!
The music was great as well as the message! How wonderful that over 200 kids in the community gathered to learn about God! We still have the CD in our car and listen to the "Egypt songs" often. Luke even knows all the words!!!

6 is SO COOL!!!

So WAY back in May, we celebrated Nick's 6th birthday exactly one week after Jack celebrated his 8th!!! Unfortunately, I can't find all the great pictures that I took; however, Dan was able to track these down of us singing Happy Birthday to our birthday boy!

Here is Nick rocking his Birthday Hat he received from his teacher, Miss Edwards! He wore it all night! He was SO proud of it!
And here we are singing!
Make a wish! Nick's wish was waiting for him in the garage though! He LOVED his new BIG KID orange bike!
And check out this one of Luke pretending to blow out the candles!!! At least Nick thought it was funny!
Happy Birthday to my absolute favorite middle man! We love you, Nicky D!!!
