Chocolate Anyone???

This weekend it was our turn to host a baby shower for my sister and soon to be mommy, Jackie! We decided to have it at her home (she has a great basement with a cool bar and this would aid at delivering presents easier....we just had to bring them upstairs!)

The nursery has been decorated in brown and green polka dots and is really too cute. We opted to use that color scheme and turn it into our theme for the shower. We totally jumped on the whole "brown" bandwagon and had two chocolate fountains, one white chocolate with green food coloring and the other your run of the mill milk chocolate. As far as beverages, the party would not have been complete with a great chocolate martini! Here is our chocolate bar!
Our sister-in-law Allie and niece Alyssa came up to help! I always tell Allie that she should go into party planning as she has such awesome ideas! When we decided to do the chocolate fountains, she decided she could make her own fruit "flower" arrangement! She made two of them and they were amazing!!!
Of course we had to have a Peggy Brown cake. I had her make my favorite cake...the present cake, of course with green and brown polka dots. Jackie chose all chocolate, but as a non chocolate lover, I had to have some white cake options, so we went with cupcakes! (Too bad I didn't have one...doing this whole "biggest loser" thing with a friend and cupcakes certainly aren't on that diet!)
Here Jackie and Steve open a gift (especially for Steve) from his three nephews. Yep, Jack, Nick and Luke got him his own Diaper Champ and the book Everyone Poops! Fun times!
One quick picture amidst all the clean up...Nana, Jackie, Allie and I, all happy that we had a successful shower but sad that we won't be throwing anymore as we are all married and all (soon to be!) with babies!

Shower was amazing. Allie, Amy, Jan and everyone that assisted did an amazing job. You transformed our basement into Baby Bliss and all the hard work really paid off. The food was great (i almost dove into the fountain) the games were funny, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves very much. I know Jackie really appreciated it, and I did too. The presents were overwhelming- especially "everybody poops" - thanks Jack Nick Luke.
