Friday, the 13th was a very special day in our house...Luke turned 2. I was fortunate enough to be off of work (thanks to parent teacher conferences on Tues. and Thurs. nights!) and got to take Luke to CID for Family Day...I got to hang out in his class from 9 - 11! It was great! We even brought cupcakes to share with his class!
Friday night we celebrated Luke's birthday with a "ROCKIN'" birthday party! Nana and Papa brought over a real record player and we rocked out to fab 50's music! We chomped on hamburgers and fries and of course, our Peggy Brown cake (2 acutally, that looked like records!)
Here we are getting ready to sing to the Birthday boy...
The cake had been cut and Luke was ready to eat!!! (Notice his Born to Rock t-shirt?) He had a few changes throughout the night as any true rocker does!!! :)
Of course after dinner and cake, it was present time! Luke's favorite present by far was his Elmo from his two teachers, Ms. Laycee and Ms. Cindy!!! Here he is opening another Elmo themed gift from his two favorite teachers! Luckily Luke had lots of helpers...Daddy, Jack, Nick and our great friends, Cam and Syd!
After all the presents were opened it was time to DANCE!!! Here Cam and Syd bust a move with the birthday boy!
No rockers could party without their guitars and shades...so all the kids received some in their goody bag! It made for a great time, as all the adults sat around watching the energetic little ones rock out!
Here Luke posed for a quick minute with a girly pink guitar...tough men wear pink though, I've heard!
We did manage to snap a quick pic of our family...well, and Elmo!!!
And one final "shout out!" to Uncle Steve who managed to party down, even though he was feeling a bit under the weather! Hope you are feeling better!!! :) Gotta love Nick's energy!!! :)
All in all one great day and one great little boy!!! He continues to amaze us each and every day! We love you, Buka!!!
