Life's A BEACH!

WAAAAY back in June, Dan and I headed out to Cancun for 8 days with our great pals, Bob and Angie! Our flight took off at 7 a.m., so we had to be at the airport around 4:30! WOW, that was early!!! We were SO glad to see Dunkin' Donuts at the airport!!!
The flight was fast and uneventful! Dan kept busy with his crossword puzzles!
We got to our resort, Secrets Silversands - only 20 minutes from the airport! It was BEAUTIFUL! We were greeted with glasses of champagne! We stepped outside (into the heat!) but were met with this great pool!
We had a delish lunch (and some GREAT beverages!). We also met our fave waiter of our trip, Gustavo! After lunch we were able to check out our rooms! The room was amazing!!! Here is a pic of our bathroom...if you look in the mirror you can see the rest of the room as well! Very modern!!!
Since it was our 10th wedding anniversary we were also greeted with a bottle of champagne and some spa coupons!
We quickly changed into our suits and headed to the pool!!! You can tell it is Day 1 in this pic...check out Dan's farmer's tan!
We swam a bit, but then took a little siesta! Dan was the only one who stayed awake...he did snap some pictures of Bob, Ang and me sleeping, but I'd prefer to post this pic of the three of us awake!!!
We headed back to the room, got changed and went to dinner! The resort had 8 restaurants - we chose Mexican - since we were in Mexico and all...but it wasn't too great! :( Good pictures though!!!
Fun drink and beautiful plate! :)
After dinner the guys wanted to take full advantage of the cigars available! Here they are picking 'em out!
We went down to the beach so they could smoke them there (notice the cigar in Dan's hand).
However, it was too windy, so we headed to the bar....thankfully the bartender was able to hook them up with a lighter!
After a few drinks there, we headed back to our room to sleep! It was a LONG, beautiful day! I couldn't believe I was so tired after really just having done nothing but sit all day!!! Stay tuned for Day 2!
