After our fabulous day at Grant's Farm we headed back to Nana and Papa's house for a delish dinner! We were all just hanging out in the backyard when Papa walks out with a "microphone" okay, it was a bat, and announces that we are going to play Minute to Win It! I had never seen the show but quickly caught on!
Nana and Papa had found "tasks" for us to complete within one minute. Our first task was to move these paper bags from one place to a table using only our mouths. I was a bit worried b/c neither Aunt Jackie or Uncle Bryan could do it, and then it was my turn. I was successful and fast too (shocking, I know!) I was even more surprised though when both Dan (below) and Uncle Steve were able to complete the task as well!
Task 2...stack 10 bolts (I think that is what they are!) on top of each other using only a chopstick. Check out Steve's concentration! He totally smoked me! I was all cocky about doing so well with the paper bag thing that when I had like 6 bolts stacked up in record time, I quickly flew the others on top...it fell and to this day, I STILL can't do it!!! Here is the champion stacker - Uncle Steve!
Task 3...move 6 cotton balls from one table to the next using only your nose...after it has been dipped in Vaseline! Check out Jackie - with Papa, the official time scorer in the background!
Uncle Bryan discovered you had to blow and shake your head to get the now sticky cotton ball off your nose. Here he is working his strategy!
We thought that with Dan's big Italian nose, he would be a shoe in to win...but he got the giggles and had some trouble!
The boys all got involved in the action too...
(Alyssa had fallen asleep after our long day!)
...until Baby Henry made his own game with the cotton balls!!!
Task 4 (I'm guessing at the order now!)...balance an egg on top of a light bulb using only packets of salt! What the heck? I ended up breaking an egg...I realize I have very little patience for these type of tasks!!!
Task 5 - stack 5 apples on top of each other! Uncle Steve did it - 1, 2, 3...very much UNLIKE me - who again STILL cannot do this darn task - however, I blame my difficulty on the bruised apples b/c by the time it was my turn to "compete" the apples had fallen to the ground countless times! :)
So, we definitely saved the best task for last! We belted on a kleenex box - little ones like the ones in hospitals - and put 10 ping pong balls in there! The object was to shake ourselves around to get those balls out! First up was Uncle Bryan. The pictures SO do not show how funny this was! I think we were all in tears!!! You can't tell, but he does have his kleenex box belted onto his butt!!!
Uncle Steve was up next...
...then Dan!
...and finally it was my turn! No pic of me is available (ok, maybe there is one, but since this is MY blog, I'm not posting it!) I smoked the boys EASY! Then it was Aunt Jackie's turn...my only competition!
She did well, but I WON!!! Guess I know how to shake it!
We were all planning on spending the night at Nana and Papa's and lucky too, b/c after our long day, we were all exhausted!
